Uvalde Memorial Hospital's goal is to be the regional provider of choice for healthcare as we meet our charitable mission. As a non-profit hospital every dollar goes to providing quality healthcare. Our non-profit status means that rather than paying dividends to stockholders, UMH reinvests all of its proceeds after expenses to improving and expanding services. As new procedures and technologies are developed healthcare costs continue to rise. At the same time, government sponsored health coverage and health insurance plans continue to lower reimbursements to providers like UMH and as a result, some payments are not adequate to cover cost of providing care. The hospital remains stable, but is challenged by this climate. We are committed to continually enhancing our services for our patients so that they can receive quality care close to home. Of vital importance to our success is the support of individuals, foundations and businesses. We depend upon the generosity of our donors at times to acquire the equipment needed to better care for our patients. Capt Family Donates $75,000 for Legacy Courtyard Wall and Fountain

Uvalde Memorial Hospital (UMH) received a $75,000 gift from the Capt Family of Uvalde for the Legacy Courtyard Wall and Fountain. The courtyard wall and fountain will provide a barrier between the hospital entrance and courtyard outside of the Emergency Department. The wall will have a water feature and be the location for all historical donor plaques from the 1949 and 1972 hospital.
