In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, Uvalde Memorial Hospital is hosting a Women’s Health Expo to take place on Tuesday, October 10th at the Ssgt. Willie de Leon Civic Center from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Our focus is not only on breast cancer awareness but overall women’s health and encouraging women to take an active approach to their healthcare. Last year this event was the first of its kind in our area and attendance exceeded 500. The Expo is open to the public and will attract women of all ages and backgrounds.
5:00 PM: Registration, booths open for shopping
6:00 PM: Physician Expert Panel; booths remain open
- Five doctors, specializing in a variety of areas of women’s health take the stage to candidly answer attendees’ questions.
6:30 PM: Keynote Speaker- Tracey Conway; booths remain open
- An Emmy Award winning actress and comedienne, Tracey Conway literally dropped dead from Sudden Cardiac Arrest during a live taping. Her heart stopped for more than twenty minutes and Tracey’s chances of survival were barely 1 in 20, but after six defibrillator shocks, paramedics brought her back to life. Tracey’s story — her sudden death, her miraculous recovery and the insight she’s gained living and thriving every day with a chronic heart condition —will entertain, touch, and inspire any audience. Aside from being an internationally acclaimed speaker, Tracey is an accomplished writer, contributing the lead story in Chicken Soup for the Soul, Healthy Living and has received two Emmy nominations for her writing on the television comedy series Almost Live!. Conway has appeared as a guest on Oprah, sat as a panelist for PBS series Second Opinion, and regularly participates in American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women events.
7:30-8:00pm: Meet & Greet and Pictures with Tracey Conway; booths remain open
A variety of vendors will be present ranging from health, nutrition and fitness, to fashion, beauty and jewelry.
To participate as a vendor, please complete the vendor form and return it with payment no later than September 15, 2017.
Each category (health, nutrition, fitness, beauty, fashion, jewelry) will showcase a limited number of vendors to ensure the success of the booths present so you are encouraged to submit your entry form early to reserve your spot.
We are so excited about our cute shirts for the Women's Health Expo. To order your own before the big event, download the form and mail to us or drop off in the Human Resources Department. Orders and payment due by October 7tht.
