1st Annual UMH Wellness Run

Uvalde Memorial Hospital announces its 1st Annual Wellness Run to be held during the Labor Day weekend on Saturday, September 5, 2009.  The run will consist of a 5k, 10k and 1k Kid's Run with several age divisions.

$15 Pre-Registration Entry Fee Deadline is August 10.

$20 Late/Race Day Registration

T-shirts are guaranteed for Pre-Registration Participants only.  Late/Race Day registrants may receive a T-Shirt while supplies and sizes last.

Event Schedule

Location

Uvalde Memorial Hospital, 1025 Garner Field Road, Uvalde, Texas 78801.  Pre- and Post- Race activities will take place on parking lot facing Garner Field Road.

Route Information

Race begins at Uvalde Memorial Hospital parking lot facing Garner Field Road.  Route continues down Garner Field Road, then through Industrial Park returning back down Garner Field Road and ending at UMH parking lot.  5K runners will travel course once and 10k runners will travel course twice.  The course is flat and paved.  It will be marked and traffic will be redirected by our very own friendly Uvalde Police Officers.  Several water and first aid stations will be located along the route.

1K Kid's Run will be marked along Garner Field Road as well.

Amenities for Runners

Awards

Awards will be given to top 3 male and female finishers in each 5k/10K divisions.  All 1K Kid Runners will receive medals for their participation.

Volunteers

Volunteers are wanted to assist with different event duties.  If you have a volunteer hour requirement for any organization, we would gladly give you credit for your hours of service to our community wellness event.  Volunteer sign-up is ongoing.  Please contact Rose Puente, 830-278-6251, ext. 1118.
