Calling All Artists!

Uvalde Memorial Hospital (UMH) has launched an art call to feature artists of our community in your new hospital. Studies have shown that art helps reduce stress and loneliness, improve health, and create compassionate care spaces filled with inspiration and peace. UMH is looking for artwork and photography from individuals of all ages.

The kids’ art call includes art submission from individuals 17 years of age and younger. Topics included in the kids’ art category are Americana, everyday super heroes, nature, and contemporary.

The adults’ art call includes art submission from individuals 18 years of age and older. Topics included in the adults’ art category are Americana, everyday super heroes, nature, contemporary, botanical, and hometown.

The photography call includes photo submissions from individuals of all ages. Topics included in the photography category are Americana, everyday super heroes, nature, contemporary, botanical, and hometown.

Art topics are open to creative interpretation by artists. The deadline for entries is January 31, 2021.

Submissions are limited to four entries per artist. A completed submission form must accompany each entry, and be submitted with the artwork. The submission form and guidelines can be found on the UMH website under “Art Call” at www.umhtx.org/art-call/.

Original work can be mailed or delivered to Uvalde Memorial Hospital’s Public Relations building. Attention: Art Call, 124 Royal Lane, Uvalde, Texas 78801 or submitted as a high-resolution file via email toartcall@umhtx.org.

Art and photos will be selected by a committee for use in the new hospital.Artists will be notified that their work has been selected in March 2021. Donation of copyrights to entries required. UMH reserves the right to accept or reject any entry.
