Hite Named Chief Nursing Officer
Cynthia Hite, R.N., B.S.N., has accepted the position of Chief Nursing Officer at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. Ms. Hite comes to UMH with 18 years of nursing experience in various positions of administration, nursing leadership, quality, risk management, accreditation and regulatory preparations for hospitals.
Ms. Hite received her BSN from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Her immediate past employment was at Christus Spohn Hospital in Kingsville, TX as the Chief Nursing Officer. Ms. Hite has also served as Regional Director of Accreditation Services and Regulatory Compliance with Christus Spohn, Director of Quality Assurance and Utilization Management, as well as, a charge and staff nurse of various units at different facilities throughout Texas.
“I am looking forward to building an exceptional nursing workforce at UMH. We have great nurses here who offer the highest quality of care possible. Patients receive the same, if not better, care here than they would receive at a hospital in a metropolitan area,” states Cynthia Hite. “I would like to empower our nurses to provide holistic care for all of our patients. They will be involved in all aspects of patient care creating better outcomes for the patients,” added Ms.Hite.

Ms. Hite is a native of Corpus Christi and moved to Uvalde with her mother and son, who will be attending Southwest Texas Junior College.
Ms. Hite will be replacing Ed Russell, who resigned October 2008.
