UMH To Experience Temporary Power and Phone Outage

One phone line will be available for emergency calls and messages.

On Saturday, October 1, Uvalde Memorial Hospital will experience a planned and temporary power outage to make necessary repairs to its electrical system.  As a result, phone system service will be interrupted for two short periods of time.

On Saturday, beginning around 7 a.m. and ending at approximately 9 a.m., the main hospital line, (830) 278-6251, will be unable to receive or place calls.  The phone lines will then go down again a final time during the 4 p.m-6 p.m. timeframe.

During the phone downtimes, one line, (830) 591-1949, will be available for emergency calls and messages only.  This line will not have call waiting and callers will receive a busy signal if in use.

Family members may leave their phone number with the patient’s nurse if they are unable to stay with the patient and wish to be notified of anything that may arise.

Family members and friends will be unable to reach the patient’s room directly through the temporary phone number.  If the patient needs to be reached, family and other visitors are encouraged to go to the hospital or call the patient on his or her cell phone.
