Wireless Internet Access

Uvalde Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce that it now offers free Wireless Internet access to patients and visitors.

How to gain access:

• Connect to the umhguest (all lower case) network.
• Open your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.) and you will be redirected to a page where after clicking "Accept" you will be able to browse the internet.  
• note: As UMH is using a self signed certificate you might be presented with the following message in Internet Explorer. You have to select "Continue to this website" at that screen in order to proceed to the next page.

Please note the following:

• As with most public wireless “hot spots,” the UMH wireless network is not secure. It is possible that other wireless users can intercept information being sent and received from your device. Consequently, you should be cautious and not transmit credit card information, passwords or any other sensitive personal information while using any wireless “hot spot.”
• UMH will not be responsible for any personal information (e.g. credit card) that is compromised.
• UMH will not be responsible for any damage caused to your hardware or software due to electric surges, security issues or consequences caused by viruses or hacking.
• You must use the UMH wireless network in a responsible manner, and in compliance with federal, state and local laws; including, but not limited to, not transmitting or receiving illegal or harmful material, committing fraud, or downloading copyrighted material.
• Restriction and/or monitoring of a minor’s access to the UMH wireless network are the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian.
