Obstetrics & Women's Health
Our caring, friendly staff will give you the personal attention and care you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Your care is managed by your doctor and our registered nurses. Registered nurses in the Women's and Newborns' center complete extensive training and all hold S.T.A.B.L.E. and PALS certifications amongst many others.

Our maternity wing offers private birthing rooms allowing patients and their families to experience a feeling of home while they are here. Our labor and delivery rooms offer ample room for physicians and nurses to provide needed care and your family to provide support.
Women's Imaging
Opened in April of 2014, the Women's Imaging Center at Uvalde Memorial Hospital provides a private, comfortable, and custom environment for women seeking preventative care and diagnostic imaging services.
Digital mammograms, stereotactic biopsies, ultrasounds, and bone density studies are housed together in the Center. The center also has a private waiting room and sub-waiting and changing area. The center is conveniently located directly off of the main registration and emergency room lobby at the Kessler Drive entrance of the hospital.
The Equipment
- The Philips MicroDose digital mammography unit is newly purchased and provides patients with access to top-of-the-line care. The unit produces less radiation than analog and other digital units. Requiring less compression and anatomically curved and warmed breast support the unit also leads to increased patient comfort.
- The Hologic MultiCare Platinum Stereotactic unit provides cutting edge technology to perform breast biopsies.
